FAQs
What does (if applicable) the co-producer mean?
If applicable means if there is a second producer for example: Deshawn Productions & Producer 2, in this example is the co-producer Producer 2 so the credit would look like this: Artist Name – Song Title (Prod by Deshawn Productions & Producer 2).
What happens when I lease a beat and the song I made goes viral?
You need to contact the producer and negotiate a deal for an exclusive license if it has not already been purchased. Your limits may have exceeded the maximum number of streams/views/etc. or units sold.
What happens to customers who licensed the same beat?
Your licenses will remain valid until you have exhausted your limitations. Non-exclusive licenses are limited to a certain number of usage rights. For further information view the chart.
What if I rent a beat today and the producer sells the exclusive rights tomorrow. How will this affect me?
Briefly said nothing. The term “Notification of Outstanding Customers” protects non-exclusive licensees from being hit by the exclusive buyer.
I rented a beat and the song went viral, but another artist has exclusive rights to the beat.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime situation, but it can be a real pain in the butt, once an artist/label is granted an exclusive license, the sale is final and irrevocable unless the artist/label agrees to a refund of the license. Should this happen, we will do our best to assist you with the problem. The final decision, however, is made by the license holder. In order to prevent this from happening purchase an exclusive license for a beat, you feel comfortable with.
